Discover Scholarship for Nurses
The F.A.E.T. Inc. (FAET) awards scholarships to nurses who are enrolled in a WOC
Nurse Education Program or are pursuing an Advanced Degree related to WOC
nursing. The intent of the scholarship is to promote the specialty of
wound/ostomy/continence nursing. The monies awarded may be used to help defray
the costs associated with the educational program.
The scholarships are awarded in the name of Gloria Merwarth, who was the first
Enterostomal Registered Nurse in Central Florida in 1976. Two years later, she was
instrumental in chartering the Florida Association of Enterostomal Therapists. She
touched, mentored, and educated nurses, patients, families, and physicians in many
care settings. The Gloria Merwarth Scholarship Award honors her and the many lives
she has touched.
Applicants must be members of F.A.E.T. Inc. and have attended or have proof of
acceptance to an accredited school.​
The scholarship is awarded each spring at the yearly F.A.E.T. Inc. conference. If you
are interested or know of someone who would qualify, please complete the application.
The application deadline is April 21, 2024. The decision for the award is made by the
Board at the meeting held just prior to the conference.
